About Us

We are headraft. Since 2016, we have been pioneers in the conception and production of interactive brand content. Our team unites creative talents from the fields of gaming, 3D, XR technologies, film, and design – all bringing their unique expertise to the table. We build immersive stories, mobile games, and spatial experiences that stand out and deeply engage users.

To help us push the boundaries of mobile interactive experiences, we are looking for a passionate Unity Gameplay Developer with a strong focus on iOS and Android platforms to join our agile team.

Your Responsibilities

  • Gameplay Engineering: Develop, implement, and iterate on core gameplay mechanics, interactive systems, and game logic for mobile platforms using Unity3D and C#.

  • Mobile Optimization: Ensure our mobile experiences run flawlessly. You will profile, debug, and optimize game performance, memory usage, and battery consumption across a wide spectrum of iOS and Android devices.

  • Platform Integration: Handle mobile-specific implementations, including touch and gesture controls, mobile UI scaling, and native device feature integration.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with our UX/UI designers, 3D artists, and creative directors to ensure the technical feasibility of creative concepts and translate them into a polished mobile experience.

  • Prototyping: Rapidly prototype new gameplay ideas and immersive mechanics to pitch ideas internally and to clients.

Your background

What you bring to the table

  • Experience: You have 3+ years of professional experience as a Game Developer using Unity, with a solid focus on mobile platforms (iOS/Android).

  • Tech Skills: Excellent command of C# and deep knowledge of the Unity Engine, including URP (Universal Render Pipeline), physics, and animation systems.

  • Mobile Expertise: Strong understanding of mobile hardware constraints. You are comfortable using tools like the Unity Profiler and Frame Debugger to squeeze out performance.

  • Agile Mindset: Experience with version control (Git) and working in agile, collaborative team environments.

  • Game Feel: You have a strong sense of game feel, timing, and mobile UX, ensuring our projects aren't just functional, but fun to interact with.

  • Language: Fluent in English.

Bonus points for

  • Deployment & Native Knowledge: Experience with native iOS (Swift/Objective-C) and Android (Java/Kotlin) build environments, as well as familiarity with App Store Connect and Google Play Console release management.

  • Languages: German language skills are a plus.

This role is remote-friendly. Most of your work happens wherever you're most productive, in the office or at home. What we do need is the flexibility to join us in the office for project-related tests and setups, depending on each project's scope. That's why being based in the Hamburg metropolitan region is a must.
